I believe this will be my favorite of the bunch. Ethan is so much I hoped he would be. This is definitely one to put on the "Re-read" shelf. There were a couple moments I wanted to slap some sense into Annabelle but I did enjoy her character too.

Love this book. Love this series. Lady Annabelle Darling wants to be married, unfortunately the only person who makes her heart beat faster is the dreaded rake Lord Ethan Craven. Lord Craven vows to not want to marry. He pushes all her buttons. This book really makes you laugh, has just a little intrigue and just a small bit of racy sex. My favorite kind of historical romance.

I loved the story and how it moved along, the romance between Annabelle and Draven was well developed. Though l think the author was a bit unfair to the gentlemen on Annabelle s list. We only got to hear of only two,but they were a lot more than that.

Healthy relationships aren’t hard work.

I met the love of my life 10 years ago, and we are going strong, now with a beautiful baby boy. I am a life coach, and the only area I don't coach is Love and relationships. Not because I don't live my happily ever after, but because I couldn't explain how I did it. Now I can. I did exactly Lisa's Score Program. It works.

With lot of inspirational stories, the Score Method is a very doable way. The book is easy to digest, fun, honest and of course lovely written.

This is the only book you need to be your GPS to The land of Happily ever after.

Score It Before You Put A Ring On It.

With so many books to choose from about love and soulmate attraction why would you want to purchase YET another one?

What differentiates this book from others out there is that Lisa provides a scoring process that she has used countless times
on her clients for real world results. From the examples, I could relate to where I went wrong in previous relationships. Honestly, I wished I had
this scoring system beforehand as I would saved myself and everyone else time, energy, etc when I really need to solely focus on my own life.
Lisa also cites examples of before and after with her clients along with "Doses of Inspiration" or real life serendipitous love matches. Who doesn't love a good love story? Personally, I am sucker for "How We Met" type of stories and this book did not disappoint.

Another aspect to this book that I really love is how Lisa provides very candid and concrete examples from her own life and shows how she actually used this process herself to create her ideal life - not just one section of it. This is not your mother's LOA book where you simply chill on the couch with a cup of chamomile tea and a bowl of Cheez-Its thinking about your ideal situation and then not do anything about it. No, you actually make the intention, assess where you are and then get deliberate about aligning values with prosaic action steps to create that ideal life for you. Each person is different in what they value yet this process would work for anyone.

This book offers a really effective process--I am impressed!

Wow! This book was a real eye-opener for me! By doing the exercises outlined in this book, I was able to see a clear pattern in the types of men I had been choosing, and this caused me to take a really good look at myself and why I was willing to accept so little in the relationship department. The exercises offered a fresh way to create a new vision of an ideal partner, and in scoring myself, I was able to see the areas that I need to address in my own life to become more of a vibrational match to the partner that I want. The "Dose of Inspiration" feature offered me hope by illustrating different ways my Soulmate can manifest in my life, and the "Moral of the story" quotes offered helpful morsels of wisdom that have me thinking about things in a whole new way. I like the honest way the author, Lisa Hayes, shares her personal story; she doesn't hold anything back. She made me feel like she's been there, and she "gets me." I feel really excited about taking action in cultivating my juiciest life, knowing that I will be having a grand time even before my Soulmate shows up. This book shows me that a woman loving life is SUPER ATTRACTIVE and that's what I choose to be. I highly recommend this book!

Absolute Best and Most Important Parenting Book There Is--You Will Be Transformed!

As a relationship therapist and parent, I can say that this is the absolute best and most important parenting book there is. Dr. Shefali boldly accomplishes what no other parenting book has been able to fully achieve. She addresses the many challenges that parents experience with their children--at the causal level. She gets to the root of problems. The author shows us that our children are never triggering us. Conversely, what is getting triggered are our past wounds. That in every moment there is always a choice to react or respond. When we move into reactivity, this is about our own hurt and fear. Dr. Shefali masterfully helps us see that our children are here to show us where we need to grow. She says children are our "awakeners." In the excerpt below, the author explains the parent-child dynamic:

"Our children are particularly effective mirrors, because although we can divorce our spouse and abandon our friends, our children are here to stay. It's in our relationship with them more than any other that we are challenged to examine those aspects of ourselves we would ordinarily deny or avoid. When we are able to look into the mirror they provide us with and address our issues, we not only clear the fog form our own vision, but also begin to see our children for who they truly are. In this way, we become a reflection of their authentic self."

We are asked to consider questions like, "`Is my child in some way reflecting the way I tend to operate?'" With numerous examples, we are shown that the cost of addressing behavioral problems at the effect level is increased negative behavior. Through the author's profound insights and plethora of real-life examples, it becomes clear that our own fear, which stems from past conditionings, paralyzes us by keeping us from knowing how to connect with our children. That real change can only happen when we have heightened awareness or become conscious of our own behavioral patterns. This means noticing our thoughts and feelings and exploring our belief systems. When reading this book, you feel like the author takes you on an intimate journey of awakenings and opens your heart to a whole new way of seeing your essential role as a parent. In The Awakened Family, the author explains that we need to give up our expectations of how we would like things to be and to accept whatever enters the present moment. In the following passage, the author helps us to understand what acceptance means:

"Acceptance of the present moment doesn't mean you are passive or resigned to things. It simply means that the sting of the emotional charge is taken out of the situation. Sure, you can correct your child and even assertively create boundaries if these are needed, but the entire exchange is executed without adding in the emotional charge of fear, panic, shame, or guilt."

We are able to see that only when we learn how to "be" can we know what doing action, if any, is needed.

Dr. Shefali so eloquently explains our responsibility as parents when she says, "It's our sacred responsibility as parents to remember that within every child is a deep desire to be seen, heard, and understood. Indeed, a child's deepest yearning is to know the answer to the question, "`Am I good, am I okay, am I worthy?'" When we are willing to open our heart to the author's message, we can only experience its resounding truth.

Conscious parenting has personally transformed me and the way I parent my son. This is not a quick-fix philosophy; it is a way of living, finding more peace and joy in your life.

Every parent, therapist, parenting coach, and educator should read this book and keep it close by for reference. With the brilliant insights that Dr. Shefali provides in her latest book, we can all become more awakened and join a growing consciousness that has the power to heal our world.

Focus on Who your Child is TODAY!

First off, THE AWAKENED FAMILY has some serious, profound ideas to ponder. I found that I needed to slow down and mull over many of the ideas presented by Dr. Tsabary. These are important ideas, worthy of serious consideration. The author presents a series of MYTHS to make her case for CONSCIOUS parenting, in contrast to a REACTIVE, ego-centric approach.

Here's my favorite quote from this book: "Focus on who your child is today, and what they do. Let go of emphasis on their performance, tests, achievements, or chores." It seems obvious to me that our society has run amok with putting huge burdens on children. What college, what high school, even what kindergarten! I bet most parents realize that, but in THE AWAKENED FAMILY, Dr. Tsabary explains the damage it is causing.

Here's the BIG point that really got me thinking: We are mistaken in thinking the focus is on our child. We need to look at OURSELVES. In particular, we need to come to grips with our EGO. As parents we look to our children as reflections of our OWN value. We want affirmation of our parenting skills and a "living, breathing trophy" of our own success.

It's our ego that puts unrealistic demands on our children. We look to the future and expect them to accomplish great things: "Many parents are seduced by the notion that a child's worth is measured by their performance." We set the bar very high and define "success" in terms of their accomplishments.

By continually looking forward to the wonderful things our child will do in the future, we run over their naturally desire to be appreciated for who they are--right now! "Each of us longs not only to be validated but also to be honored for who we are at this moment right now..." We risk creating a huge chasm between parent and child: "Placing expectations on your child instead of allowing the child's own natural inclinations to emerge spontaneously may well result in an emotional Grand Canyon between you and your child."

The end of each chapter has ideas for affirming conscious parenting--as opposed to the fearful, ego-centric reactive process that comes so naturally. Also, there is a large appendix, "Thirty Daily Reminders to Build Consciousness," which is filled with affirming passages to help you each day.

So all in all, I found THE AWAKENED FAMILY to be a challenging read. I've never really thought about my EGO being the driver for raising kids. These are not simple ideas--and definitely not easy for me to accept. I admit I'm struggling with some of the author's points. At least for me, I will need to read over, and think these ideas through a little more.

It's never too late to start.

Most of us start our parenting journey believing we are moderately prepared for what is to come. Then we get in the middle of it and realize how ill prepared we really are. Everyone is ready to give you advice, yet no one talks about what is really at the core of the problem (and solution). If you have ever felt like this, then stop reading and order this book immediately. The wisdom begins on page 2, when Dr. Shefali writes "In an awakened family, parents are aware that every relationship in their family exists to help each person grow." Simply beautiful. What a complete shift from mainstream's definition of family. Throughout the rest of the book, Dr. Shefali patiently walks readers through a revolutionary new way of parenting, providing an explanation of how we got here and clear direction on how we can change our family for the better. She uses common everyday examples that you can easily use in your own family scenarios. Most of all, Dr. Shefali truly believes that it is never too late to start your family on this journey of transformation.

Great southern cookbook

This is by far my most often used cookbook. My mother-in-law gave it to me back when it was just out, and it is still the one I turn to first 25 years later. The toll house marble squares recipe on page 354 is the favorite with my children and their friends. One of the things I love about this cookbook is that there are multiple recipes for the same dish so you can choose the variation that you like the best. I have recently purchased used ones for both my daughters.

The "Color Science Bible"

I bought this book for my studies in the M.S. Color Science program at the Rochester Institute of Technology. It is a very detailed and math-oriented view of many aspects related to color & color science. I've sometimes heard it referred to as the "Bible" of Color Science.

Bottom line is that it's a great reference book for detailed, mathemetical views of Color Science topics. It's not a very good book to read for general information or an overview on color science. I'd highly recommend "Principles of Color Technology" by Roy Berns as a good all-around 1st book on color science. Much easier and more enjoyable to read. The Wyszecki & Stiles is more of a reference book if you need the next level of detail after that.

The complete color science reference

I spent ten years as a professional color scientist in feature film post production in Hollywood, completing hundreds of theatrically released films. This book was an indispensable reference, particularly useful during the industry migration from primarily film to primarily digital acquisition methods. As the other reviewers have alluded, it is math heavy. It is also exhaustive and complete. If you really want to understand the empirical science behind the illusion of color, this is the book for you. If you are looking for a lightweight overview of color concepts, this is not the book that you want.

About the Author
Paul Downs Colaizzo has had his work has produced at MCC, Signature Theatre, Playwrights Horizons, Experimental Theatre Wing, and International Theatre Workshop, Amsterdam. Really Really marked Colaizzo’s New York playwriting debut and is the first play in his “Want, Give, Get” trilogy. His other plays include Little Gives, The Thing About Getting, Pride in the Falls of Autrey Mill, and For Tomorrow, Please Prepare. He holds a BFA from NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts and lives in New York City.

A thin line

Really, Really revolves around a group of college students who are nearing graduation. As what comes after college starts playing on their minds, they start looking for ways to secure their post-college futures. When the fall out of a party places some of those plans into jeopardy, each friend's or acquaintance's true self begins to shine through causing some to question their beliefs and others to question whether they can stand by their beliefs. Really, Really's conclusion may or may not be what you would hope but it does really, really reflect a reality that is all too likely.

Plays should be transformative; they should leave an impression, perhaps cause a little discomfort, and force you to confront your assumptions and beliefs. Really, Really was mostly successful in this purpose. The script read well and helped capture a mood that was appropriate for the purpose, and as the dialogue and action unfolded, I was left on that very thin line between disgust and sadness. While I would stop short of calling it transformative, Really, Really will definitely leave you with a lot to ponder.

Based on the cover and other Amazon reviews, I was expecting that this was an issue of gay male fotography. Instead, it's a gay male *and female* fotography. Not many good photos - the articles are interesting though! Sound familiar? Like "Playboy"?! haha

this book isn't a bad choice. It walks you through creating a domain

If you are a tech-savvy small business owner thinking of setting up your own Server 2012 Essentials system, this book isn't a bad choice. It walks you through creating a domain, users, groups, backup and more... step by step, with lots of screen caps.

If, on the other hand, you're an IT person like me who just needs to catch up on what's new in Server 2012 Essentials, this might not be the best choice. For one thing, the author doesn't mention the perils of giving your local domain the dreaded .LOCAL extension, nor does he explain why this is a bad choice. Most every IT source I'm familiar with advises people to use a TLD subdomain, like AD.COMPANY.COM. And since the author doesn't tell you how to create a non-LOCAL domain, I will: exit the Essentials wizard and use the AD applet like you would in "regular" Server 2012. That way you can create the preferred ATL.COMPANY.COM or AD.COMPANY.COM domain, or whatever.

He also erroneously says that XP machines cannot join a Server 2012 domain. This is flat-out wrong. It's true that you can't use the CONNECT intranet page to join an XP or Server 2003 machine to a Server 2012 domain, but you most certainly CAN use the old-fashioned method of right-clicking the "My Computer" icon and choosing Properties > Computer Name and entering the new domain name and administrator credentials. You may need to move these computers to the correct container in AD to get them to accept GPOs, but I did not experience this. I joined the XP and Server 2003 virtual machines to the domain, and everything worked perfectly.

The author also states on p. 68 that user data could be "lost forever" if an existing computer with active user profiles is connected to a new domain. For one thing, this isn't entirely true: I've never heard of any version of Windows actually deleting profile data in such a move. Still, this would have been the perfect time to mention USMT, or third-party apps like Profile Wizard, or even recycling profiles manually. But he chooses to skip this for some reason.

There are other quibbles. For one, he says you should check the "passwords never expire" box, which is bad security policy. He suggests editing the default domain policy instead of adding new ones, which as far as I know is still the preferred way to go about things. And he mentions adding Dropbox or Google Drive folders to network shares, but says that the only way to do this would be to create an account and give the login information to everyone who needs it at home or on the road. But then he states, "be sure to change the password when an employee leaves". OK... but since the employee has the login information already, what's to keep them from resetting the password themselves? As far as I know, Dropbox doesn't remove any files on the local computer if the Dropbox login fails, so if I fire someone, what's to keep them from logging in to Dropbox on their phones and resetting the password from my client's parking lot? They'll still have the info on their home computer, only now no authorized users will be able to access the information. What do you do then, eh?

Great for Small Business IT Pros.

If you are a small business IT provider, then you need this book. First off, Windows Server 2012 R2 Essentials is a great product. Even though Exchange is no longer included, it does connect to Office 365 for Exchange, Sharepoint, Active Directory, etc.

If you are going to be installing this product for customers, I highly suggest getting this book. I puts things in proper sequence, otherwise your installs can be a bit rough.

Missing cd

I don't like my purchase because the book has a lot of notes writing in it and the cd was missing, and they never told me that until the book arrived. As a student, the cd was so important for me because I had to listen the cd in order to do my homework, so that situation was too uncomfortable and make me feel I have been fooled.
