About the Author
Lee Caraher started Double Forte in 2002 as a new kind of communications firm designed to work with the people and companies that interested her team with the best service in the business. She also serves on the board of KQED Public Media and Grace Cathedral in key leadership positions. She is the previous Chair of the Board for Community Gatepath, one of the largest nonprofits serving people with special needs in California, and the founding Chair of the Board of St. Paul’s Choir School. Lee is also a member of Entrepreneurs Only, a YPO for entrepreneurs.

Previously she was EVP at Weber Shandwick, and President and Founder of Red Whistle, a Weber Shandwick company headquartered in San Francisco with offices in Boston, New York and London. During her tenure at Weber Shandwick companies, Lee managed multiple offices and upwards of 300 people, and was named in the 40 under 40 by industry publication PRWEEK. Prior to working at Weber Shandwick, Lee was with SEGA of America where she was their youngest US vice president. There she led over 500 people in Communications, Customer Service, Sega.com, and Events.

She holds a BA in history (concentrating in Medieval History) from Carleton College, which she finds useful every day. Lee lives on the San Francisco Peninsula with her husband Pete (the chief home officer of the family), two vastly different sons and Al the blind cat.

A Practical and Essential Guide for Recruiting, Retaining and Motivating Your Business's Talent

Lee Caraher has nailed it! Not only has she outlined and detailed some of the challenges of blending the Millennials into the workplace, she has shared countless examples of what works (and what doesn't). This is a must-read for all business leaders and managers. This book has proven solutions that are well researched. I particularly appreciated the summary of do's and don'ts at the end of each chapter for quick reminders. Change is inevitable in businesses, large and small. This is a perfect read to instill the necessary changes that must be taken, backed up with the research and practice. I highly recommend this book for business owners, leaders and students of HR practices.

I am currently dealing with Millennials in the workforce, and finding a way to motivate them has been quite the challenge. This book is clear in how to do that. I read it during my three-hour plane flight to see my team. This book made it easy for me to formulate a plan of action to deal with my younger team and help them to be more productive and more engaged during the workday.

About the Author
Judith A. Boss earned her PhD in 1990 from Boston University, her MA from Dalhousie University in Canada in 1971, and her BA from the University of Western Australia in 1969. Prior to pursing a career in academia, she worked as a writer/researcher for the Nova Scotia Museum. She was on the faculty of the Department of Philosophy at the University of Rhode Island from 1988 to 1995 and worked as Assistant Director of Curriculum Affairs at Brown University School of Medicine until 2004, when she "retired" to return to full-time writing. She remained at Brown University as a visiting scholar with the philosophy department for several years while working on her textbooks. In addition to her philosophical interests, she completed a MS in Human Development at URI in 1991 and has led faculty workshops and written extensively on the topic of college student development. She was recipient of a URI Foundation Grant to study the effects of community service learning on students' moral development and has served as a grant application reviewer for the Corporation for National Service. The author of nine books, her publications include ANALYZING MORAL ISSUES and ETHICS FOR LIFE, both with McGraw-Hill. Her textbook THiNK, also with McGraw-Hill, just came out in 2009. She is published in, among other, The Journal of Moral Education, Public Affairs Quarterly, The Journal of Medical Ethics, Academic Medicine, Educational Theory, Free Inquiry, and The Journal of Experiential Education. During her spare time she volunteers with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Services and is active in the Appalachian Mountain Club. An avid traveler, she has traveled with students from the University of Rhode Island and Brown Medical School to work with underserved, indigenous people in Guatemala and Mexico. Her favorite travel destination, however, is Antarctica, and Blue Ice, a suspense/thriller she wrote that is set in Antarctica, is coming out in print next year. She lives in Rhode Island with her daughter, son-in-law and twin granddaughters.

From the Author
As a trumpeter for over 45 years (I started when I was 10), I've learned some things about playing a wind instrument that I would like to share with other musicians. 
Several years ago, I became interested in personal fitness, and began to experiment with muscle development as it related to playing the trumpet. As a result, I developed a set of specific exercises that directly work the embouchure muscles that are of particular interest to players of wind instruments. 
After several years of developing these straightforward and simple concepts, I am pleased to offer them to my fellow musicians for the first time.
The result of my research is my book, "How To Improve Your Chops Without Playing A Note." 
The common sense approach of this e-book has the potential to revolutionize the performance of many players by allowing for highly efficient and effective embouchure development to take place outside of the practice room.

About the Author
David Boe is a trumpet performer, teacher and author. He lives in Portland, Oregon, where he has held the position of Principal Trumpet with Portland's Jewish Community Orchestra since 1998, and has played lead trumpet with the Carroll Raaum Swing Orchestra since 2006.

best trick ever

I have been playing trombone for 25 years; I also work a full time desk job
and practicing on my lunch hours is not that easy; for me these exercises are
the difference between struggling and having fun playing!

After doing this exercise for just 2 days, (about 20 reps) my stamina increased
noticibly, and at the end of my next gig I still had power.

I have buzzed mouthpieces for years and even learned to buzz without a mouthpiece,
but more than any single aspect of horn practicing this method can change what's possible
in short order!

Excellent for keeping your chops in shape!

This is a fantastic book and technique! A quick read, explained very well. I have very limited time to play my trumpet - over the last month I have had zero time. But I could do this easily, driving to work in the morning, at lunch, & driving back each day. After a month of doing only this I finally picked up my trumpet and was amazed! My chops are actually in really good shape! I used to buzz my mouthpiece on the way to work & on the way home. It was better than nothing, but doing this is TONS BETTER!! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this for anyone who needs to keep their chops in shape! Great job, David!!!!!

A great excercise

I have been practicing the exercise described in this book for several months now and find it to be incredibly useful during the periods in which I am unable to play my horn. After about two weeks of practicing with this exercise multiple times a day, I was able to play lead trumpet with unually strength without the usual exhaustion. I would strongly recommend this book to any trumpet player that finds it sometimes difficult to practice as much as they wish they could.
