About the Author
Tracy Capps Selle has nearly 15 years of teaching experience and she's sharing all her secrets with you. You really can get your kids to enjoy practicing the piano! Piano has been a life-long love for Tracy. It all started when she became pianist of her church when she was only 13 years old. She held that job through high school and then headed off to Virginia Tech. Following graduation, her love of science won out and she become a TV meteorologist. (She thinks of it as a little side-track that allowed her to meet her husband--also a TV meteorologist!) Through it all, Tracy never lost her love of music. After becoming a wife and mom, she got back to those roots. She's been teaching piano for more than 10 years and loves every minute! Her passion is encouraging kids to find their love of music and she loves giving parents pointers on how to make that happen. Her focus is not only getting kids excited to practice the piano, but also helping students have better quality practice. In her spare time, Tracy loves to read, crochet, and hike with her family. Great and Concise!

This ebook is full of great tips that cover all aspects of one's journey into the world of piano lessons. These tips are well organized and helpful for parents, students, and teachers alike. There are also a number of great pointers about free or nearly free online resources that are useful for pianos students. I especially enjoyed the section about teens and the strategies laid out for how to keep them in lessons. I would recommend this book for new and seasoned piano parents - bravo!

A Must Have for All Music Teachers and Parents!

Things I love about this book:
1) It’s an eBook! I know I’m a bit new to the world of eBooks, but I love how I’m able to access this on my computer, iPad, or smart phone (Galaxy S3 if you’re wondering.) All you have to do is download the free Kindle Reading App on your device and you’re ready to go. Teachers - this is a great book to recommend to parents. When a new student starts lessons, this should be a standard link that you send to their parents. They can read it on their phone or tablet while they wait during lesson time!
2) The Tips are Organized into Easy-to-Use Sections. Looking for an instant practice idea? Check out the “Top Ten Things You Can Do Right Now.” Trying to motivate a student who is down on their abilities? Check out “Attitude is Everything.” There are even sections that highlight how a student can continue to practice outside of the practice room – including links to lots of great music apps.
3) Tracy is Super Creative. The tips in this e-book will help you think outside of the practice box. Are you tired of fighting against students who say they don’t want to practice? Tracy has some fantastic ideas to help avoid arguments. She helps make practicing fun and interesting by suggesting unique ways to get your student excited to get to the piano bench. I particularly love her idea of the “practice hat”!
4) You Can’t Beat the Price. This e-book is available for only $2.99. There are 102 tips (yes, there’s a bonus one at the end!), which means you are paying $0.03 per tip. Add in the great 10% discount codes that Tracy includes for a couple of resources, and this is a fantastic bargain.

Resource valuable for any involved with a student's music education!

This book has plenty of solid ideas for how to stimulate the music practice of any-aged music student. It's a valuable resource for a teacher, parent, or other person with influence over a student's schedule and practice habits. If you have a student who is bored with music or not practicing, this book provides a multitude of ideas for how to add interest back into practice sessions or playing music in general. I am happy to have access to this book so I can refer back to it for ideas for a long time to come! Out of the many links provided, I did find one link that was outdated.
